Taxonomic notes

Its closest affinities are with C. kuesteriana from Tamaulipas, but it differs from that species in both cone and leaf morphology. The chromosome number of Ceratozamia sabatoi is 2n = 16, and the karyotype is similar to other species of the genus (1).
