Leaves of young trees and on the lower branches of old ones yew-like, linear, [15-38 mm] long; those of mature branches small, scale-like, closely pressed, [2-3 mm] long, obtuse, thick and leathery, with membranous margins. Male strobili solitary, [3-9 mm] long. Female strobili forming a short oblong head, [6-12 mm] long.
