Taxonomic notes

Three varieties; flaccida , martinezii (Pérez de la Rosa) Silba, and poblana Martínez.

Description

Range

NE Mexico to the Chisos Mtns. of Texas (USA); at 1830 to 2440 m (2). See also (4). Vars. martinezii and poblana are in Mexico (1).

Big Tree

Diameter 82 cm, height 17 m, crown spread 11 m, located in Big Bend National Park, TX (American Forests 1996).
