Endoplasmatic Reticulum

Intracellular (endoplasmatic) membrane systems and ribosomes: rough endoplasmatic reticulum (rER) in the cell of a seeker hyphen of dodder (Cuscuta odorata). The ribosome-covered cytosolic surface is typical for the rER. (I. DRR, 1977)

Model of the endoplasmatic reticulum. The cistern (orange) is also called lumen. The cytosolic surface is studded with ribosomes (little red spheres). (according to W. R. BOWEN, 1969)
